Cora

Sweet "Cora" began as a two piece dresser hutch combo, and quickly became one of my favorite pieces.  I went back and forth on her color choice, convinced that she needed to be a kettle black color with library card pulls.  However, a chance encounter with a piece of sea glass became my source of color inspiration and transformed "Cora" from this.........

To this.....

We removed the bottom two drawers for basket storage...just to mix things up a bit.  I added some mercury glass knobs for contrast, and am so very happy with the way that she turned out.  :)

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Spring....

Spring is finally headed to the beautiful mountains of North Carolina!  Every year, I look forward to the sweet sounds of Spring, the warm sun on my face, and the ability to paint furniture outdoors.  :) It's just not quite the same, when braving the icy temps of Winter with a can of paint, and a brush.   In honor of Spring, I've worked on some recent pieces in a variety of happy colors.  So, for your viewing enjoyment, I give you a desk refinished in my favorite color, apple green.

Laundry Room Cabinet Makeover

I'm currently knee deep into my second cabinet makeover since January, but I'm loving every minute of it!  Kinda strange to enjoy painting cabinets, but hey, that's me and my weirdness.
Anyway, I wanted to post pictures of my first cabinet makeover for 2013.

A sweet couple asked me to transform their outdated oak cabinets from this.......

To this.....

 And this...

For this makeover, the owners chose a muted kettle black color.  We decided to distress the cabinets a bit more around the edges to give the look more impact, and I'm so glad that we did!
I love the way they turned out....and so did the happy owners!  :)

I'm Baaaaack!!!!

Oh yes, I'm finally back to the blogging world!  I'm sure that all 5 of my sweet followers have missed me.  ;)  I've gone back and forth on whether or not to try to devote more time to developing my blog, and I've decided that it's definitely worth it, and I can't wait to add more viewers.  So, with high hopes, I head back into the blogging world to develop this new chapter in the life of my homespun business.

To get this party started, I'm posting a picture of a new piece of inspiration....directly from Pinterest, (original photograph source unknown)  and one that's guaranteed to get me into the Holiday spirit!  I have great plans for adding smaller pieces like these, and think that they'll definitely add some sparkle to Darling Bella!  They'll be heading to my November 17th craft show, for sure.  Season's Greetings......in October! ;)

"Pippi"

This has to be one of my all-time favorite dressers!  I am completely and totally in love with chevron patterns, and couldn't wait to put all of that love into a piece of furniture.  "Pippi" came along at the perfect time, and was just the right piece for this pattern.
She's currently available for sale at an awesome children's boutique, hOpscotch. https://www.facebook.com/hOpscotchinconover?fref=ts

Fancy Knobs that Look like Earrings? Yes, please!

Possibly the longest title in the history of blogging?  I think so.  Will I phrase everything as a question and then answer it in this blog?  No.  ;)
Recently, while reading one of my favorite blogs, "Twice Lovely," I came across a plug for their very cool Etsy shop, "The Hob Knobery," that offers unique and sometimes antique knobs for super-affordable prices.  After a difficult time deciding which ones to choose, I went with these gorgeous antique knocker drawer pulls and I absolutely love them!  I can't wait to place them on the perfect piece.  If you get a chance, visit the blog "Twice Lovely" at http://twicelovely.blogspot.com/ as well as their awesome shop "The Hob Knobery" at http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheHobKnobery?ref=ss_profile
